Blackberry Basil Lemonade Recipe

1. Make the Blackberry Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine the blackberries, sugar, and 1/2 cup of water.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the blackberries break down (about 5–7 minutes).
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
Let the syrup cool to room temperature.
2. Combine the Lemonade:
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled blackberry syrup, lemon juice, and the remaining 3 1/2 cups of cold water.
Add the basil leaves, lightly bruising them with your fingers to release their aroma before adding them to the pitcher.
3. Chill and Serve:
Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, extra blackberries, and basil leaves.
