Cherry Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
For the chocolate sponge:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
For the cherry filling:
2 cups pitted cherries, fresh or canned
1/2 cup cherry juice (from the can or fresh)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar
For the whipped cream:
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
