  • 4 pieces bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon chicken seasoning powder (optional)
  • 1 cup (240ml) water or coconut water

For the Kremesan (Crispy Batter Crumbs):

  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (30g) cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • Oil for deep frying

For the Green Chili Sambal (Sambal Hijau):

  • 8 green chilies (adjust for spice level)
  • 3 green bird’s eye chilies (optional, for extra heat)
  • 4 shallots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
