Chocolate Almond Fudge Cake – A Rich & Nutty Delight

  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50g) almond flour (for extra nuttiness)
  • ¾ cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk (or whole milk with 1 teaspoon vinegar)
  • ½ cup (120ml) hot coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)

For the Fudge Frosting:

  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • ½ cup chopped almonds (for topping)
