Cream-Filled Donuts – Soft, Fluffy & Irresistible

  • 2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (120ml) warm milk (not too hot)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

For the Cream Filling (Vanilla Pastry Cream):

  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For Coating:

  • Powdered sugar or granulated sugar
