With a larger mintage (1 million coins), Finland still made a name for itself in 2004 with a coin dedicated to the enlargement of the European Union. It can now be exchanged for around 60 euros—a nice bonus for a coin that might seem ordinary.
The surprise of the Italian cent… at 6,000 euros!

Never be fooled by appearances. In 2002, some Italian 1 cent coins were minted in the same format as 2 cent coins! This tiny discrepancy makes it a rare gem: now valued at nearly €6,000, it has become a true Holy Grail for collectors. Who would have thought a single cent could be worth so much?
