1. Slice the Oranges:
Wash the oranges thoroughly and dry them.
Using a sharp knife, slice the oranges crosswise into even, thin rounds (about 1/4 inch thick). Uniform slices ensure they dry evenly.
2. Blot Excess Moisture:
Pat the slices dry with a paper towel to remove any excess juice. This helps them dry more quickly and prevents burning.
3. Arrange on Baking Sheets:
Line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Lay the orange slices in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.
4. Drying in the Oven:
Set the oven temperature to its lowest setting (around 200°F or 90°C). A low temperature ensures the oranges dry slowly without burning.
Bake for 2–4 hours, flipping the slices every hour.
Check the slices frequently. They’re ready when they’re completely dry to the touch but still slightly pliable.
