- With your fingers in place, gently press and hold each point for about 15-30 seconds.
- Make small circular motions or just hold the pressure steadily.
- You should feel a slight tenderness or pressure, but it shouldn’t cause pain.
3. Perform a Sinus Massage
- After applying pressure to the sinus points, use your fingers to gently massage in small circular motions.
- Start from the bridge of the nose, moving down to the cheeks and out towards the temples.
- You can also apply pressure in a “sweeping” motion from the inner corners of your eyes outward, helping to stimulate the drainage.
4. Repeat on Both Sides
- Perform the technique on both sides of your face, one side at a time, for best results.
- For a more thorough massage, repeat the process a few times throughout the day.
5. Consider Other Complementary Actions
- Steam: After massaging, inhale steam to help loosen mucus. You can do this by taking a hot shower or inhaling steam from a bowl of hot water.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of fluids to help thin the mucus and promote drainage.
- Nasal Irrigation: If you prefer, consider using a neti pot or saline spray to help clear out mucus from your nasal passages.
