Here are the signs your body shows when your blood sugar is too high

It’s not just fatigue: Too much sugar can literally change the shape of the lens in your eyes. Do you feel like your vision is blurry at times? This could be temporary… or a sign of a blood sugar imbalance. Don’t ignore it, especially if it’s a permanent issue.

  1. Slow-healing wounds

A small cut that takes days to heal? A scratch that seems to linger? High blood sugar slows blood circulation, weakens the immune system, and hinders tissue repair. This sign, often overlooked, is nevertheless very revealing.

  1. Unexplained weight loss

Contrary to popular belief, diabetes or excess sugar don’t always lead to weight gain. When blood sugar levels are poorly controlled, the body will look elsewhere for energy… and burn fat, or even muscle. The result: you lose weight without changing your diet.  A sign that shouldn’t be ignored.

  1. Tingling in the hands or feet

This tingling or numbness—especially in the extremities—may be a sign that nerves are affected. Chronic high blood sugar can cause neuropathy, or nerve damage. It’s best to seek medical help at the first sign of symptoms.

What to do if you recognize yourself?

Don’t panic: the most important thing is to act early. A simple blood test can check your blood sugar levels. And if you have any concerns, there are effective solutions, often very simple to implement:

  • Adopt a more balanced diet  (less fast sugars, more fiber).
  • Move daily , even 30 minutes of walking is enough.
  • Monitor your blood sugar regularly .
  • And if necessary, follow an appropriate treatment , prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Because prevention is better than chasing complications,  listening to your body is already taking care of yourself.
