Your hormones fluctuate naturally: ovulation, periods, pregnancy, menopause… At each stage, the amount and composition of discharge can change. Chronic stress? It also influences your hormones, and therefore your vaginal balance.
These hormonal variations, often imperceptible, can make certain periods more conducive to more acidic losses — and therefore to more marks on the tissue.
The side effect of your laundry routine

What if it wasn’t your body, but your laundry? Some harsh household products ( bleach , scented fabric softeners, etc. ) can weaken textile fibers, making them more sensitive to the natural acidity of the waste.
“Use gentle, fragrance-free detergents and avoid chemical fabric softeners. Rinse your underwear thoroughly to limit the buildup of potentially irritating residue.”
Fabric and color make all the difference

Cotton is your best friend: breathable, soft, and absorbent, it respects your privacy while limiting the risk of maceration. Conversely, synthetic fabrics like lace or polyester retain more moisture, promoting discoloration… and sometimes discomfort.
What about color? Dark underwear (black, navy blue, plum, etc.) makes stains much more visible, even if they are minor.
“A trace doesn’t mean a problem. Often, it’s just proof that your body is doing its job well.”
