How to check if honey is real or fake?

Real honey has character… and that’s what makes it so precious! One of its typical behaviors is its tendency to  crystallize naturally , especially when it’s cooler. Below 14°C, it forms pretty crystals, a bit like golden pearls. And don’t panic: they melt quietly when the temperature rises above 20°C.

Honey that remains liquid throughout the summer and winter may contain  added sugar syrup or other thinning agents .  Bonus tip  : some authentic honeys may contain tiny natural deposits, such as traces of wax or pollen. A small detail that  the food industry cannot reproduce exactly.

Why are these tests useful?

As we all know, honey is a  true natural treasure . It’s full of enzymes, minerals, and unique flavors, which vary depending on the flowers foraged. But once it’s tampered with or cut, it loses all its value. It’s best to learn how to recognize real honey so you can make informed choices—and  enjoy it with confidence.

The next time you buy a jar of honey, consider these simple tips… and become an expert on  this precious liquid gold  !
