There are guests no one wants to entertain… One evening, as you turn on the kitchen light, you see a brownish silhouette scuttling under a piece of furniture. There’s no doubt about it: cockroaches have taken up residence in your home. But why are they there? And, more importantly, how can you get rid of them once and for all?
Why Cockroaches Invade Your Home
Cockroaches, also called blattes, are particularly resilient nocturnal insects. They are attracted to three things: warmth , humidity , and especially food . If your house or apartment has these conditions, it becomes a little paradise for these unwelcome creatures.

Leftover food: a feast for them
Crumbs on the countertop, a forgotten saucepan, or a poorly closed trash can are all invitations to feast. These insects can survive for several weeks without eating, but they reproduce more quickly when they find something to eat.
Humidity and warmth: their preferred climate
A leak under the sink, a poorly ventilated bathroom, or a constantly hot kitchen are favorite haunts. Cockroaches love these areas because they encourage their reproduction and provide easy hiding places.
Bulky objects and dark corners
They slip into the smallest gaps: behind fridges, under furniture, in cracks in walls… All perfect hiding places to lay their eggs and hide during the day.
