Creating your own cheese at home can be easy and very satisfying. Here are five simple recipes that need just a few ingredients and a short amount of time to make tasty, homemade cheese.
1. Cheese with only two ingredients. Ingredients:
1 liter of full-fat milk
2 tablespoons of lemon juice or white vinegar
Directions:
Warm up the milk: Put the milk in a pot and heat it on medium heat until it begins to simmer. Don’t allow it to reach boiling point.
Include the acid: Gradually pour in the lemon juice or vinegar while stirring softly. The milk will begin to thicken right away.
Separate the curds: When the curds are ready, take the pot off the stove. Strain the mixture through a strainer lined with cheesecloth to separate the solid part from the liquid part.
Squeeze the cheese: Wrap the cloth around the cheese curds and press out the extra liquid. You can also leave it hanging for a few minutes to let the liquid come out.
Mold the cheese into a ball or flat shape, and it’s ready to be served. You can either eat it fresh or keep it in the fridge for a couple of days.
