Melt-in-Your-Mouth Thumbprint Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract.
  3. Sift in the flour, cornstarch, and salt, then mix until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the baking sheet.
  5. Use a thumb or the back of a spoon to make small indentations in each cookie.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool slightly.
  7. Fill the cookies with jam, chocolate, caramel, or your favorite spread.
  8. Decorate with crushed nuts, sprinkles, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
  9. Let them set for a few minutes, then enjoy!
