Even though this is an upbeat message, I see that some of you fail to grasp the broader context. No matter whether I’m in uniform or not, as an officer I do not expect anything to be free when I enter any institution. Other cops share this sentiment. For us, « special treatment » is not acceptable. The rationale for the message is that KFC is showing their appreciation to police enforcement. Whoever said that more first responders need to likewise be recognized is correct. What did I say? Sure thing.
Despite the significant media attention, the sign will still be displayed at the business.
Let this sign be an homage to the brave policemen who risked their lives so that they know how much we value their sacrifice.
