Should you eat eggs with blood spots?

Whether your eggs come  from the farm or the supermarket , it is essential to store and cook them properly to avoid any health problems. Here are some  practical tips  :

Conservation :

  • Store-bought eggs should be refrigerated upon return.
  • Fresh farm eggs can be stored at room temperature ,  but in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

Handling:

  • Wash your hands before and after handling raw eggs.
  • Never eat eggs with cracked shells , as bacteria can easily enter them.

Cooking :

  • Cook the eggs until the yolk and white are firm.
  • Avoid eating raw eggs unless they are pasteurized. This greatly reduces the risk of salmonella contamination.

Transportation :

  • If you’re bringing eggs for a picnic, keep them in a cooler to prevent them from spoiling.
