Prepare the Lemon:
Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from one half directly onto the surface of your dirty pan. If the stains are concentrated in a certain area, focus the juice on those spots.
Add Charcoal:
Take one or two pieces of charcoal (about the size of a small coin) and rub them directly on the surface of the pan. The abrasiveness of the charcoal, combined with the acidity from the lemon, will help break down the grime and stains. For tougher areas, you can use a piece of charcoal as a scrubber.
Scrub the Pan:
Using a cloth or sponge, gently scrub the pan in circular motions. Focus on any areas that have stubborn grease or burnt-on food. You should notice the stains lifting easily as the lemon juice and charcoal work together.
Rinse and Clean:
Once the pan is scrubbed to your satisfaction, rinse it thoroughly with warm water to remove the lemon juice and charcoal residue. You can use a little dish soap to ensure all the charcoal is washed away. If there are any remaining stubborn spots, sprinkle a little baking soda on them and give them one last scrub.
Dry and Shine:
Dry the pan with a clean towel or allow it to air dry. Your pan should look cleaner and shinier, with any stains or grease gone!
