- Prepare the Produce
- Wash the carrots thoroughly, and peel them if they’re not organic or have a thick skin. Cut into smaller pieces.
- Peel the oranges, remove as much of the white pith as you like, and roughly segment them.
- Peel the ginger; use more or less depending on your preference for spice.
- Choose Your Method
Method A: Using a Juicer
- Juice the Hardest Produce First: Feed the carrot chunks and ginger through the juicer, following your machine’s instructions.
- Add Oranges: Next, juice the orange segments.
- Stir and Serve: Combine the liquids if they separate, then pour into a glass over ice if desired.
Method B: Using a Blender
- Blend: Place the carrots, oranges, and ginger in a high-powered blender. Add about ½ cup water to help blend into a smooth consistency.
- Strain (Optional): If you prefer a pulp-free juice, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Press or squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Serve: Taste, adjust with extra ginger or more water to thin. Serve over ice.
- Adjust Flavor
- If you want extra sweetness, add a small amount of honey or a sweet fruit like apple.
- For a tangy twist, squeeze in a little lemon or lime juice.
- Enjoy Immediately
- Fresh juice can oxidize quickly, so it’s best consumed right away to savor the bright flavor and maximum nutrients.
