Baking soda
White vinegar
Water
Dish soap
Microfiber cloth or soft sponge
A small bowl
Preparation:
Empty the Oven: Before you begin cleaning, make sure the oven is cool and empty. Remove all racks and trays to give yourself full access to the interior.
Make the Cleaning Paste: In a small bowl, mix about ½ cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water. Stir until you get a thick paste.
Apply the Paste: Using your fingers or a sponge, spread the baking soda paste over the oven’s interior, focusing on the spots with grease and burnt food. Be careful around the heating elements, and avoid getting the paste on them.
Let It Sit: Allow the paste to sit for at least 30 minutes (or longer if possible, overnight for stubborn stains). This will give the baking soda time to break down the grime.
Vinegar Spray: After the waiting period, fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Lightly spritz the interior of the oven with the vinegar, which will cause the baking soda to fizz and help lift off the stains.
Wipe Clean: After the fizzing has stopped, use a microfiber cloth or a soft sponge to wipe away the paste and grime. For tough spots, apply a little more vinegar or scrub gently with a non-abrasive sponge.
