🍄 2-3 large Lion’s Mane mushrooms (whole or thick slices)
🛢 2 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil, for searing)
🧄 3 cloves garlic (minced or grated)
🥄 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce (for umami depth)
🥄 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (for a rich, tangy glaze)
🌿 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (for a smoky kick)
🥄 ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
🧂 ½ teaspoon sea salt
🍋 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
🌿 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
📌 1. Prepare the Mushrooms
- If your Lion’s Mane mushrooms are large, slice them into thick steak-like pieces.
- Brush off any dirt (avoid washing to prevent excess moisture).
📌 2. Make the Marinade
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, tamari, balsamic vinegar, garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice.
📌 3. Marinate the Mushrooms
- Brush or rub the marinade all over the mushrooms.
- Let them sit for 15-30 minutes (or up to an hour for deeper flavor).
📌 4. Sear the Mushroom Steaks
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil and place the mushroom steaks in the pan.
- Press down with a spatula or another pan to create a nice sear.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
📌 5. Serve & Enjoy! 🍽️
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a side salad.
- Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze or chimichurri sauce for extra flavor!
