Here’s why you get nighttime leg cramps and how to prevent them

A rock-hard muscle, a burning sensation that drags you out of bed, and you can’t get back to sleep? These nocturnal episodes, known as leg cramps, are as sudden as they are uncomfortable. Sitting all day, cross-legged at your desk or slumped in front of the TV, hinders proper blood circulation. And without fresh blood, muscles tense up. It’s a bit like a garden without watering: it eventually dries up .
