There’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh, homemade donuts! These soft, fluffy treats can be customized with your favorite glazes, toppings, or fillings. Here’s a simple recipe for classic donuts made from scratch.

Ingredients:
For the Donut Dough:
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
3/4 cup (180 ml) warm milk (around 110°F or 45°C)
1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3 1/2 cups (440 g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
For Frying:
4 cups (1 liter) vegetable oil or canola oil
Optional Glazes and Toppings:
Classic Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 2–3 tablespoons milk
Sprinkles, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts for decoration
