Thyme and menstrual pain: science gets involved

Every month, it’s the same old story: abdominal pain, headaches, fatigue… For many women, periods are far from a pleasure. What if the solution was… in your garden?

Researchers at Babol University of Medical Sciences in Iran conducted a study on 84 young women suffering from painful periods. Their secret weapon? Thymol, an active molecule found in thyme essential oil.  The notable result  : thymol relieved pain more effectively than ibuprofen, the pill we sometimes take automatically.
