2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and roughly chopped
1–2 inches fresh turmeric root, peeled (or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric)
Juice of 1 lemon (or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar)
1 cup (240 ml) water or coconut water (adjust for desired consistency)
A pinch of black pepper (enhances curcumin absorption from turmeric)
Optional sweetener: 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, if desired
Tip: If fresh turmeric is hard to find, use about 1 teaspoon of high-quality ground turmeric powder.
